Bad Breadth |
Bad breath is not a disease; it is rather a symptom, which indicates the presence of disease either within the mouth or away from the mouth. Odours, which may appear unpleasant to many, may not be the same to some e.g. People in the Mediterranean area are accustomed to the scent of garlic ,a scent which many people around the world find obnoxious. Chronic bad breath , however, is not caused by the foods we eat. Instead, chronic bad breath results when bacteria in the mouth break down left over food particles creating odorous sulfur particles. The primary goal in this case is not a change in diet but a reduction in the number of odor causing bacteria in the mouth. This can be done with proper brushing, flossing, and cleaning of the tongue with a tongue cleaner (tongue scraper).

Bleeding Gums |
Bleeding gums is among the common conditions affecting the oral cavity. The Chinese might have noticed bleeding gums as early as 2500 BC. They termed the associated diseases as "Ya-Kon" which means diseases of soft tissue surrounding the teeth. This problem still continues to affect us even with so many modern facilities available in the field of oral care. Gum disease begins with plaque, a sticky film of food particles, germs and saliva. If not removed, plaque will settle at the gum line. The germs will produce toxins that makes the gums red, tender and likely to bleed when brushing your teeth. There are chronic conditions and even some medications that can cause plaque to accumulate more quickly. The purpose of daily brushing rinsing and flossing is to clean away this plaque. When this plaque is not removed it can harden into tartar which builds up along the gum line and traps germs below. The mildest form of gum disease is called gingivitis and is the most common.

If the stain still remains after meticulous cleaning of the teeth by the dentist, it is understood that the stain is present within the substance of the tooth. A careful history taking can be useful in differentiating between an internal stain and an external stain.Proper brushing and maintenance of tooth can be a First step towards keeping your tooth white and glowing. If in case after repeated cleaning if your Tooth is still stained , you can do a Oral cleaning or a Cosmetic dentistry.

Oral Cancer |
Cancer of the mouth, or "oral cavity", includes that extending back as far as behind the last molar or the "wisdom tooth". This would include the area behind the lips, gums, inside of the cheeks, palate, and front 2/3 of the tongue. The tonsils and back of the tongue are further back, and are located in the "oropharynx". Thus, cancers of areas behind the last molar are not considered "mouth cancer". Also, cancers of our 3 major salivary glands namely parotid, submaxillary, sublingual are considered separately, as well as those of the jaw bones and muscles. Therefore, it is important to identify the area the cancer arose from, even if it subsequently spread to other areas. It is this area it originally arose from which determines what type of cancer it is.
